ST. MARGARET’S UNITING CHURCH Corner Antill Street & Phillip Avenue Hackett ACT |
|
For over 40 years St Margaret’s Church has been a landmark at the crossroads of Dickson, Downer, Hackett and Watson and an open, supportive and loving community for the people of North Canberra.
We belong to the family of churches known as the Uniting Church in Australia, formed in 1977 when the Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian churches came together.
Our Church predated this spirit of ecumenism by over a decade by coming together with the Anglican Parish of Holy Cross to share the church, hall and grounds on the corner of Antill Street and Phillip Avenue, and on many occasions, Ministers and services. We are proud to remain the only churches in Canberra to continue such an arrangement.
When you come to our church we hope that you will experience our faith in Jesus Christ, our enjoyment of good worship which is based on varied and strong preaching, good music and a growing ministry with children all set within the liberal tradition of the Uniting Church.
We also value highly an engagement with our local community, through the Kids Kaos Sunday School, Meg’s Toy Box Toy Library, St. Margaret’s Travel Club, our more relaxed monthly family services and Luncheon Group and our partnership with the Stepping Stones Project.
We look forward to you joining us at St Margaret’s. |
